10 Reasons Every Practice Should Add a Weight Management Program

Increase your patient base: Adding a weight management program to an aesthetic practice can help attract a new population of patients who are looking to improve their appearance and health through weight management. If your current practice offers weight loss surgery, then you already realize not every potential patient is a good candidate right away. Adding a non-surgical weight management option is a great alternative to allow you to serve even more patients.

Overview of the Texas Medical Association Lawsuits over the No Surprises Act

Since implementation of the No Surprises Act (NSA) on January 1st, 2022, there have been four lawsuits brought on by the Texas Medical Association (TMA). Interesting that the TMA is more vocal and active legally and supportive of physicians in America than the American Medical Association (AMA).  Not sure why anyone would pay dues to the AMA… but I digress. The NSA is designed to minimize surprise bills in three circumstances and the TMA lawsuits focus on the IDR process after emergency care.

We have the data! Converting Machine Readable Files to Human Readable Files!

With the July 1st required release of insurance companies’ pricing data, we’re actively extracting all of the negotiated rates and out-of-network allowables from various insurance companies, include BUCAH (Blue Cross/Blue Shield (Elevance Health), United, Cigna, Aetna and Humana). The problem is the prices are posted in machine readable files so no one can really read them. We’ve been extracting the data from these gigabyte-sized files which collectively add up to petabytes of pricing data.
